Registration & Cancellation Policies

Once you have made the required deposit (of 50% of sojourn fee, unless stated otherwise), and have been notified of your acceptance, your reservation is deemed complete, and your place will not be released to another participant.

The balance of your registration fee is due no later than 90 days of the specified start date of the WOW! sojourn, unless another payment date is previously agreed upon. Failure to pay the balance by the due date will result in the cancellation of your reservation. Please see our Refund policy.  Installment payment plans may be available upon request; if you need this arrangement, please contact us. Your reservation is not secured until we receive the full registration fee.

Please note that there are no refunds for leaving a Writing on Water (WOW) sojourn early, arriving late, or skipping meals. All activities are optional; however, if you choose to opt out of any of our activities or offerings, that is your choice, and you will not receive a refund of any part of your registration fee.

Your registration fee includes all items specified in the Writing on Water (WOW) sojourn itinerary package:  which includes but is not limited to tuition (for all workshop offerings, instruction, and individual consultation on your writing) plus accommodations/use fees, meals, guided movement sessions and offsite tours, and vary according to your selection of accommodations. Your accommodations will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, depending on venue availability. If you would like to share a room with a traveling companion, please let us know.

By making your deposit, you agree that you have read through the description of the sojourn, the accommodations, and our offerings on our website: www.writingonwater.net and our email communications; and also the guest information and frequently asked questions at the sojourn’s venue/website. You agree with our policies and our liability waiver.

Please consider travel insurance to protect yourself against changes in your circumstances. Remember, Writing on Water (WOW) is not responsible for participants’ air (or private ground travel not specified by the WOW sojourn itinerary) and will not issue refunds for unused airline or ground travel reservations. Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including personal emergencies. Once again, please consider travel insurance to protect yourself against changes in your circumstances.

Writing on Water (WOW) reserves the right to cancel any of our programs with a full refund to accepted participants in case of insufficient registration or for reasons of force majeure. In cases of personal or health emergencies that result in instructor cancellations, we will endeavor to replace the instructor with a suitable replacement.  

NOTE: If you have paid in full for your participation and inform us less than 90 days prior to the sojourn date that you cannot attend due to personal circumstances or emergency, please let us know ASAP and we will try to fill your spot with a participant on the waitlist. If we can do so, we will make every effort to return your fee (less a US$500 administrative fee). This is not a guarantee, nor is it an exception to these policies, but an offering that we will try to honor.
